So ... an update is overdue I think.

Car went for smoke test - they couldn't find any leaks.

Dealer then did a forced regen getting the soot in the DPF down to almost zero.

All good for two weeks then yesterday the DPF Full amber warning came up.

I don't do big miles, or that many runs over 50mph - one in the last 14 days - so thought ok, maybe it's genuine.

Looked up Stan's comment on what to do again ... and with some trepidation set off on a run this morning.

Engine warmed and 55mph. Within 7 minutes DPF warning cleared.

I carried on at 60 - 70mph for another 20 mins.

And all seems well. Happy days

mine need the oil drain mod and the dpf then had a few issues, i had a hawkeye so could monitor it and see soot levels. the secondary problem i had was a leak between two of the sensors in the exhuast system that measure dpf soot levels. fixing the leak then meant the levels were recalculated (now with correct pressure readings) dpfs soot level went up and up but i just kept on longish drives over 55mph and its seemed to have coped so far (10k miles since) Cheers

GAC23 - how is your DPF these days?

Seems to me your experience proves the drain mod does not affect DPF filling.

But I can't see, reading your posts what the fix was, other than a few forced re-gens?

Or was a hose split the culprit?

From what I understand:

When using the IDS module incorrect option selected from the Special application menu when working with DPF fitted vehicles or
when carrying out regeneration of the Diesel Particulate Filter using IDS.

Action:
If the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is to be regenerated using IDS then ONLY Diesel Particulate Filter
Dynamic Regeneration must be selected from the options menu found under Special
applications/Powertrain.

NOTE - UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES must Diesel Particulate Filter Replacement be selected for
regeneration purposes.
This application can ONLY be used when a NEW DPF has been fitted !!!

Selecting this application will ONLY reset the stored particulate filter values in the PCM to ZERO Values but
will NOT regenerate the Diesel Particulate Filter as the FF now believes it has a new filter
fitted - Therefore the FF can be quite dumb and needs to be educated - so be careful when using the IDS

Do you research before undertaking such work as you can cause more problems - knowledge is key !
