Help! TD6 won't rev past 3k.

Evening all,

After a mere 2 months owning the 55 plate RR, on a 400 mile round trip to Glasgow and back to Aberdeen again the car has developed a hesitation at 3000 revs.

It drives as normal, no faults listed at all on the dash but when accelerating up hills it starts to hesitate between 2.5k and just will not accelerate past 3k.

Before i put it into Town & County LR Abdn I was hoping some of you knowledgeable people may be able to shed some light? Really hoping its not one of those £1000 problems. Just returned from 3 weeks off work Big Cry

Thanks in advance.
Kris

I had similar on my wife Turbo mundeo.
Internet experts had down to £1000's on injectors and turbo's EGR 's

It was a holed pipe at £19.95 plus labour and the vodka and tonic.

Normally simple if no warning lights flash up. 15MY SDV8 Vogue SE

Air flow meter?

A mate of mine bought a car cheap because it wouldn't rev past 3k, couple of squirts of carb cleaner on the MAF and it was working spot on, mind you, that was a petrol car. 2006 Mercedes CLS
1991 Retro-style Mini
But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...

My dad had a similar problem with his disco. He changed a vacuum line and valve recommended from another forum. Tuned out the garage had washed his air filter (thinking it was a reusable) when it wasn't it started to brake up and was blocking the inlet over certain revs.
Very cheap fix once diagnosed.

Thanks for all the help so far.....
Just nipped round to a friend of mine who has the code reader and the following two codes came up:

P3505 Glow System
P1260 Delivery Fuel Pressure Monitoring

Anyone help with what the codes might mean?

Thanks
Kris

I had a 530d with a similar problem and it was the fuel pump, I would think this might relate to your fault codes too. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Can anyone help with the part numbers for the Low Pressure Fuel Pump and the Filter that goes with it??

Think i will replace the pump and filter and re-scan to see if the error continues...

Any help greatly appreciated.
Kris

I'm guessing it must be the original. Went back through the folder of reciepts tonight and cant see any evidence of the fuel filter being replaced.

Any idea of the part number? Ive found this filter WFX000180 for £30.00 ex. Vat.

Thanks,

Ordered. Will let you know once fitted.

**edit - the same month i bought the car (November), i had a full service and gear box flush carried out. Would the fuel filter have been changed as part of the major service?? **

Failing that i will try and track down the part number for the LP fuel pump and replace that next.

Thanks for you help.

Do you have AA cover? If you had the 'breakdown repair insurance' they would cover things like the fuel pump, got mine replaced by them on the 530d, only had to pay the £25 excess! Wink Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
