Hi all

Excellent posts re fixing the unit many thanks. I opened mine without breaking the tang off the case, taking advice from the thread but noted that the small plastic clips securing wires had disintegrated and the battery pack has slightly discharged green gunge! also the 2 black wires from the battery pack were free floating in the case.

This soldering work is beyond my limited skills so is anyone taking these on a a paying repair job/hobby?

If so could you please let me know as I would like to get this fixed

TIA

Grrrrr, annoyed

Took the battery pack to a local "repacker", who promptly made another.

Plugged the new pack into the card and torch worked, could also cycle thru the modes.

Came home to assemble properly with sealant etc and now wont work!
Have output voltage 8.1 V, as batteries are fully charged.
Wires on plug well connected, no obvious handling damage.

cant figure out whats gone wrong from collection to now Big Cry

Bought a camera and docking station from E Bay, once charged all is fine, had a play and put it away, probably not to be used again, but at least I know it works.

Hi guys,
Started this repair yesterday on my own venture cam only to find that the thermistor had completly disintegrated.
Anyone know the correct type and value or have a sharp enough photo to identify it.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Thank you Dave for these detailed instructions on how to take apart the camera and reset the new batteries. Camera is back up and running and charging well.

My Venturecam was dead so made up a new battery pack with cells got off ebay, thanks to the info got from here. All now working. Hopefully will now also stop getting random "venture cam window" appearing on screen. Would be interested what anyone has actually used their Venturecam for, e.g. off-roading, or hitching a trailer?

I once used mine to help reverse my trailer in to a tight space. I found that the factory fitted mirrors worked better.

I have the same problem - repeating the same question - type and value of thermistor? Anyone?
