I found out in more details while my job lot of spares was the price it was, people, please DON'T use bathroom sealant to stick LED strips inside the lights cases and then add pointless bits of wire to hold it in as well as the glue. Little moan over. It has created a minor opportunity for me. I was hoping to sell the original lights on as standard, but now having to swap parts over. So both sets are going to be customised and 1 set sold on.

I have started on the headlight inserts, I hope to have them primed by the end of the day as well as the trims that cover the headlight wiper motors.

I managed to get 2 coats of paint on, and I was pushing it for time in the evening, luckily I ran out of paint before making a dumb decision as I think I would have probably put another layer of paint on to try and finish the job completely. So tomorrow will be the final day of painting the lights.

Despite the nerve damage, and after a lot of fighting through the pain, I managed to get 1 headlight completed, but annoyingly the chrome paint and the tiger seal hasn't arrived yet. And I need to salvage a part off my original passenger side headlight to be able to complete that one.

I finally got round to sealing the sidelight units back together. Not bad for someone with nerve damage in my hands and tremors lol

I managed to get 3 coats of the chrome effect paint. Not so chromy, but nice and bright. Not sure weather to add lacquer tomorrow or not.

It's official, I up . I didn't bother looking online for how to apply chrome effect paint, assuming it would be the same as painting normally, I am such an idiot lol. So tomorrow, I am going to find the time and do it right lol. Glad these bits aren't needed urgently so have some time to practice, but do like learning new things. I now need to sand some of the paint off to key the surface, and paint the trims gloss black, let the paint cure for a few days, then paint on the chrome, Looks like I am going to be mounting a patio heater to something so I can speed the process up lol. All good fun though. Still plan on fitting the lights on Saturday, as Sunday is supposed to be really bad weather again.

The weather forecasters can't seem to make there minds up lol. But corrected my mistake. I even managed to make a 2nd screw up. When I thought the paint was dry after using the heat gun, I touched the paint and it was wet. So had to to build the paint up again, 3 coats of black went on, then 11 coats of chrome effect on the 1 that I didn't mess up and 14 or 15 on the one I did to make the muck up less obvious lol. That will teach me to rush the last few coats. But the chrome effect looks much much shinier. The final coat was left to dry totally naturally and tomorrow the chrome will be buffed. Hoping to get stuck in tomorrow and get it all fitted. I am going to remove the wiper arms and paint them gloss black.

Front end transformation almost done, despite the on and off rain, I managed to get it all fitted and working apart from the wiper arms for the headlights which are in the back garden being painted.

Just got the final wet sand to do now before I can add lacquer, but the weather has gone to pot and has turned colder and keeps raining, so I have stopped. But it is all black now.
