More good news to report, our car, having adaptive capability and getting all new information from, now clean MAP and MAF sensors just keep's getting better and better, with more and smoother power delivery = better (more fun) drivability.

And the bad thing - it is so addictive it should be illegal. Twisted Evil Embarassed

it would be nice if all of as that have cleaned the sensors pay attention to the way the car drives in the next few days - to see if my theory has any merit.

I took my son to the airport very early this morning (about a 18mile each way motorway) trip.
I had intended to clean the throttle and pipework this weekend but it is running so well I am reluctant to disturb anything because I have got two big trips in the next couple of weeks so am going to leave it alone and just enjoy it.

Cheers

Well all back together now and cleaned as well. I used half a roll of kitchen paper cleaning things so gungy!!

Maybe in my head don't know just driven about 5 miles to take some tools back to my mates garage and it seems a lot smoother, quicker and more responsive than it has been for a while.

But and there is always a but!!.........on my way home the DPF FULL came back on. I'm not bothered by that I'll clear it out on my way to work on Monday and that'll also let me know that changing the manifold rubbers has worked as well.

No matter what, I'll never stop loving these cars.

A quick thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.. Bow down Thumbs Up Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Stu,
Here is the LR response to my PM to their technical support dept asking about best speed / engine revs to clean DPF.
It appears their is no need to flog it, just D above 50mph for 20mins.

Good afternoon Baltic Blue,

Thank you for your message.

I can confirm that with regards to the DPF system, Land Rover recommend the following information. Please note however Land Rover do not advise of a certain amount of revs and the gear will be selected on an automatic gearbox for the speed which is advised.

1. Drive the vehicle until the engine reaches normal operating temperature. The engine should not be left idling to achieve working temperature.

2. Drive the vehicle for a further twenty minutes, keeping the road speed above 80 km/h (50 mph).

3. If regeneration is successful the warning light, or message, will extinguish.

If the warning indicator or message fails to extinguish after following the regeneration process three times, contact your Land Rover authorised repairer for assistance.

Thanks,

Amellia

Thanks Mike, I will keep to the speed limits as ever when I regenerate on Monday, I will lower the revs a bit this time but still keep them up a bit.. Thumbs Up Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Well hopefully finishing my saga off today. DPF cleared itself within 5 mins or so this morning and no restricted performance on the way to work. Read faults at work, cleared them, drove home tonight smooth as you like, read faults when I got home and nothing. So all stripped cleaned and no faults. Happy bunny today! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Cleaned the MAF last night, was actually not that bad. So I now have a set of clean sensors. Will see how it goes!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The MAF sits in the air just after the aircleaner so it should not be dirty Embarassed but yes I think it is good practice to clean it from time to time. 2012 TDV8 Vogue SE 4.4
