If it hasn't got RSE (screens in the rear of the headrests) then it won't play videos. The DVD player in the rear nearside is for the Nav System.

Hope I have understood you correctly. Neutral John

Weegie thanks for the reply but i meant on the forum, i have put some pictures up but i thought i would put a vid with the motor rattle
however your answer dose answer an other question for me, the dvd player in the rear nearside (black one) wont open, but the nave system dose seem to work, also there is another player next to it with a music disk in it, i dont know if it works, there is also a cd stacker (i think it is) in the glove box, haven't found out if that works ether
thanks

Wayneg thanks for the offer but i wouldn't have a clue at the moment how to use them.
i know i am going to have to learn
i think i have just bought a hawkeye diagnostic tool, waiting for a phone call right now and i will have to learn how to use that
i dont know if i have done the right thing buying that, no one on the forum mention that make, i agreed to buy it last week after seeing a guy using one on youtube

Hawkeye is well regarded, make sure its unlocked for your car. As far as I know although they work on all model Land Rovers they only come with the licence for one model. 2007 TDV8 VSE

If you get really really stuck I'm just the other side of Whiteman Park to Middle Earth and have an iiD tool bluetooth so I can read and clear any codes you are struggling I just can't re-write your CCF files and the BMW M62 is not in my realm of experience but maybe I can provide some pointers to things in general . 2008 MY Supercharged

There is a difference between diagnostics and its pretty much you get what you pay for.
I have icarsoft, works on any model Land Rover and Jaguar, read erase and reset. IPNA is BMW so limited access but can read and change parameters but not locked to any model or vin ( our year Range Rovers are similar to BMW X5, E53 on many systems )
Other models are locked to model or just one specific car, VIN locked but these can read, erase and reset but also change parameters so the best option but $$$. 2007 TDV8 VSE
