If it hasn't got RSE (screens in the rear of the headrests) then it won't play videos. The DVD player in the rear nearside is for the Nav System. Hope I have understood you correctly. A long way from me so probably no help but I have a carsoft diagnostics not Vin locked that can read erase and reset errors. I also have BMW INPA on a laptop with interface that can do some systems 2007 TDV8 VSE

Hawkeye is well regarded, make sure its unlocked for your car. As far as I know although they work on all model Land Rovers they only come with the licence for one model. 2007 TDV8 VSE

If you get really really stuck I'm just the other side of Whiteman Park to Middle Earth and have an iiD tool bluetooth so I can read and clear any codes you are struggling I just can't re-write your CCF files and the BMW M62 is not in my realm of experience but maybe I can provide some pointers to things in general . 2008 MY Supercharged

There is a difference between diagnostics and its pretty much you get what you pay for.
