Hi This post is really interesting! I think i will go to buy this week one TDV8 to replace my TD6. The TDV8 is from 2007 with 160.000Km.

There are a few brands of induction cleaners. I use Revive as that's what my mechanic recomended. If you google Revive induction cleaner some good explanations will come up. There is also a YouTube vid to explain it. ______________________________

I've bought Autocode emulators. An alternative is mapping out the EGR eg with a BAS remap. ______________________________

Remapping and emulators work differently for a similar outcome. Remapping means the ECU opens the EGR less so less exhaust recycled into the motor. With an emulator the EGR is unplugged so inoperable in the closed position. The emulator tricks the ECU into thinking the EGR is operating normally.

I have a quantum map in my 2007 3.6 and had the egrs switched off.

Remap turned off egrs at the same time. Two turbos , arc cost about 1800 euro 2015 4.4 AB

If I was considering an engine remap (and I would) then engine and EGR remap together. If only worried about the EGRs then probably emulators or if you have a DPF probably remap.

EGR valves get closed when regenerating a DPF to ensure adequate oxygen for the late injected fuel that doesn't burn in the combustion chamber but in the catalytic converter to produce enough heat to burn the accumulated carbon in the DPF. |

How i know if the TDV8 has the DPF or not? All the 2007-2010 TDV8 are not the same, some have and others donīt have the DPF?

If the 3.6 engine has DPFs (1 each side) then for each side exhaust there will be 2 sensors in front of the 2nd "muffler" (not the one across the back) and another one behind it whereas non-DPF exhaust systems don't have any sensors before or after. The non-DPF exhaust has 2 catalytic converters each side whereas the DPF version has 1 catalytic converter then a DPF, a much larger diameter device. |
