Do you only hear it when stationary? if so it could well be your air con compressor , they whir when they get low on gas. 2008 MY Supercharged

I had this the other day, when I parked up I was convinced I could hear the steering column motor whirring away all by itself.

Ok, i popped down to the aircon repair shop, within 1 minute the black technician was onto the job. Told me within 2 mins my system was almost empty.

well the guy was saying that after many years of not being serviced the oil breaks down and the gas also stops working and then thats where the problem starts. he says you definitely need to service the aircon once every two years.
