L322 4.2 SC Fuel Gauge Reading too High

Hi all,

L322 2006 4.2 SC.
I have an issue that has been quite embarrassing...
Basically my fuel gauge reads about 1/10 maybe 1/9 full and the computer shows 60-80 miles left when the tank is empty, learned the hard way... twice.

Problem with the sender? or just need re-calibrated, if so how do I do that? I heard something about leaving the key in the ignition when you disconnect the battery can Censored it up, can this be used to reset it also?

Thanks.

G

Mine has run out of fuel once when this has happened and said that I had 20 odd miles left in the tank. Only happened once though. Alex

I know the TDV8's have 2 fuel senders and the connection between them can corrode/get fuel in the connector and give a false reading. Not sure if SC is the same, but could be your problem 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
