You can, well was a way via DVLA don't know if its possible any more.

Sorry I mean askMID http://www.askmid.com

The askMID Roadside service has been launched to help accident victims check insurance at the roadside from their mobile phone. Range Rover quotes.....

Thx Realist - I did the askMID - they incorrectly said he was insured with Aviva. Turns out that expired in December. But they don't give the address...

Thx chaps.. Yes will probably get that off this weekend. Only thing that put me off was the likely 10-20 days it takes them. Plus I need to make up a small dossier to justify. Would rather give that task to my insurer...

. Cheers, Greg

the car may well be insured but the driver may not be, for example wife's car but he's not insured to drive it?

very clever way of doing it via email, I once had to make a claim for damage to my quad bike, the defendant told there insurance I hit them, I then pointed out that I had SMS message's from the defendant saying I rang to talk to you about my bird hitting your car at this point I got a full pay out

...ok nice one. Great to know some experience of a similar thing.

Back to the cameras issue - been thinking why didn't he get picked up and it's because the Insurance Database had him mistakenly insured. When I contacted Aviva they said of he's no longer insured with us, sorry can't help you.

So the Insurance Database has it's flaws then... Luckily we're not worried about terrorists, truck bombs etc.... Shocked

(also explains why Westminster Council just ticketed him and didn't tow him, couldn't make sense of that...)

. Cheers, Greg

Hi - nothing huge to report... I've been dealing with the Police and my insurance co. It's a bit less straightforward when the driver that hits you is uninsured - and you want to make a claim with the least possible impact on your insurance.

I did get a good trade price off my dealer to fix it but that's not something I can recover without going to county court. Would rather deal with insurance for now. They seem initially happy with the form of admission I have over email.

Downside is I might have to wait 4-6 weeks before I can get it in for repair through insurance. I could always take it to the guy's mate I suppose Shocked

Re the earlier discussion about why wasn't he picked up on cameras with out insurance - the answer seems to be the MID (Motor Insurance Database) is not perfect. I've been speaking with them and they say it's highly accurate but errors do occur.

. Cheers, Greg

Copies or not those OF wheels are now very old and it's highly unlikely someone would fit them onto a much newer car so it's not hard to conclude one or the other is fake probably both . 2008 MY Supercharged

The copies dont have overfinch embossed onto one spoke to start with. Can't exactly tell from the latter pic, but it doesn't look like it has.

They are supersport/supersport copies, and as above they are an older alloy, there are sets for sale and they still go for good money! As he has an old face lifted FF I suspect that they are copies. Could be wrong though!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks chaps. Couple of close ups in daylight added. Just looking for solid links to the CCTV. See last grainy pic.
