I had this happen to me. I checked the MID database for my Mini and it said I was uninsured. I checked my credit card statement and I had paid the insurance about 6 months before but insurers had not sent me a cover note or updated MID. They corrected their mistakes when I contacted them but I had never been picked up by an ANPR so just shows the database is not totally reliable |

I can remember the misses buying a car changed the insurance over but the insurance company cocked up, driving round for 6 months with no insurance.

Hi guys - no updates... With the Police & insurance co. I could book it in tomorrow, pay my excess (and 5 years of higher premiums) and be done. But I do have uninsured driver cover included. If I wait until the Police & insurance co have carried out some investigations, it can be dealt with as a not at fault claim. No excess to pay. So I'm going to wait to see if that pans out. I've sent them all my detective work, CCTV everything.

....and you can prove it's an early car facelifted as there is no shark fin on the roof..... and there is the wider plastic trim on the rear side window that the early cars have.... if you look on yours, it's not there... the glass is wider.....

I am pretty sure that it is not actually an offence to leave the scene of an accident, the offence is failing to report it....I could be wrong.
