Thx caddyshack. Tell me about it.

Update while I'm here - Police are "still investigating".

Insurance also "still investigating".

I could get it fixed tomorrow if I paid my huge excess (regret that now) and tarnished my No Claims (i.e. double my renewal next year). So I'm choosing to leave it on the basis that the "still investigating" can't go on too much longer. Then insurance will progress an uninsured driver claim.

There are a few more twists but I'll not post those yet.

In the meantime, helping me try to ignore my sad rear qtr, posting a pic from it's better side:

 Cheers, Greg

Another 'mod' on his is that it has black door handles - not standard for the early models Wink

Hi Lukie, nothing Sad I'm swamped in the week and only get scarce time to chase up Aviva on weekends. When my case manager is not there. Better give them a chase now actually...

. Cheers, Greg

Just an update on this - I had to do a bit more "research" on the guy that hit me and based on new information, Aviva agreed yesterday to full repair on their 'uninsured driver promise'. The promise sounds good but it's actually pretty limited.

I could have paid and got it fixed sooner - downside of this is that a claim would have gone against my history and of course a 200% chance my renewal would have skyrocketed. That, together with my high excess would have cost me say a grand.

So I wanted to work with Aviva a bit - they have been quite helpful - and now they will do a full repair with no excess to pay.

Can't wait to get it repaired!

. Cheers, Greg

Wanted to update this thread - repair is now complete!!!

Collected it yesterday, qtr panel was replaced, bumper and other bits too. Opposite side rear wheel for example was refinished as the whole car was pushed against the kerbstone.

Really pleased to bring this episode to a close.

Thanks to all who chipped in especially helping to identify the offending FF. I have been amazed to see the hits this thread has received - 8669 views.

. Cheers, Greg
