I had a 2010 3.6 TDV8 it displayed exactly the same symptoms, however mine occurred when working hard under load with a caravan on the back. Turned out to be the inlet hoses, one of which had developed a very small tear underneath which was difficult to see but opened up and caused the symptoms under load. ^ Was it a tiny tear on one of the top hoses? |

Yes, the tear was underneath and so small the LR customer service guy that attended me didn't spot but the experienced tech at the dealers went to it straight away given the faults reported. The dealers thought it could have been there a while as it didn't show up under normal conditions and only showed when climbing steep hills with the van on the back on the motorway. However the catalogue of faults read like the original post and caused the car to go into reduced performance mode. The dealers fixed it and replaced both hoses as a precaution, I then put the van on the back and did the same journey without any further incidents the following day. Eventually fixed, well I hope so anyway, needs a long run to test it out.

The following diagram should help. Basically, you've replaced the top two - highlighted yellow (which are the ones that seem to commonly fail). The others are to the bottom of the intercooler and I guess are much harder to get at. They were on the TD6, anyway.

Got the dreaded Bong and exactly the same error messages as you Walshy. Restricted performance, Active Stability Control Not Available etc. Even the confirm ride height message after a restart. Have checked the wires on the struts but all good there so hopeing its just a split hose. Couldn't see anything visibily obvious so have booked in with the local Independant who will put it on the diagnostics machine. Times like this i wish i had an IID tool! Although not sure if a cracked inlet hose will show up as an error?

take the passenger side one off, and check it under the webbing to see if its split - the link to the how to is on the previous page, it takes 5 mins and required no spanner skills.

Would if it's under load I would suspect hoses somewhere.

Might get someone to check all of them before my annual trip to Cornwall.
