My Westie has cruise control (normal not adaptive ) but there doesn't seem to be a speed limit function, unless I'm missing something. Can't find it in the manual either. Seems a big omission for such an upmarket car. Even my 11yr old Citroen has it  2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

That might be useful Stan but I was hoping for a system which would stop me accelerating beyond the speed I set. I find it useful in those awful average speed limit zones which seem to be cropping up everywhere at the moment  2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

That's true but on my Citroen the accelerator has a switch, I guess something like the kickdown switch on the Westie, which overrides the limit and allows you to accelerate. If it's not a facility on the L322 then I just need to be more careful in average speed zones  2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

You can Stan. On my L405 if you hit the kickdown switch it cancels the limiter

Funny how we prefer different things - in average speed camera zones, I use the cruise & have never even tried the limiter

Yep, neither of my L322 Supercharged AB cars had the limiter. You get an extra switch down by the TR knob on L405 which flips it between a limiter and cruise.

But the limiter on L405 doesn't work as well as the Mercedes version. If you go into over-run down a hill it changes down to give engine braking but won't actually apply the brakes, which is a bit daft seeing as the cruise version (adaptive) will apply the brakes if you get too close to the car in front. Mine even has the follow mode for traffic so the car almost drives itself so the lack of braking on over-run does seem to be a strange thing to leave out.

I think the only speed limiter on an L322 is when in true LR fashion the wheels fall off.
I've always thought that as well as normal cruise control it would be helpful to be able to set a predetermined speed ie 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70mph by the press of a button.

You could always route a piece of string down your trouser leg, one end tied to the accelerator and the other to your gentleman's sausage. Just don't forget to disengage before alighting the vehicle. And don't disengage outside a school

It does seem strange that every other car I've had with cruise control (and all costing a fraction of an FF) have all had a speed limiter as part of the cruise control. It's really only a software programming issue. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I have a Road Angel Gem which displays the car's average speed over the stretch covered by the cameras, the car's current speed (generally the speedo reads a bit more) and the limit. It is a bit noisy to use all the time on roads I know well, but is useful on (say) the A9 which has one average speed section after another and on unfamiliar roads. What a lot of cameras there are in motorway gantries these days, not visible on approach. Only Range Rovers since 1988
