We generally average 20mpg out of our 4.4 V8 petrol and only occasionally drop bellow 500 miles per tank. We mostly do motorway miles but there is some rural driving mixed in.

Usually 350ish miles per tank with lots of slow stop start commuting interspersed with solid pedal-carpet interface when clear- idiosyncratic at best. I got the S/C for the smile it can generate moving >2.5tonnes around reasonably easily... until I can afford the 5l!

When I brim fill the 4.2SC with fuel, the trip computer reads "Range 420 miles". I also zero the trip on the odo. The low fuel light comes on around the 300-320 mile point and the range reads 50. I have managed to get to over 400 miles on the odo only once in three years of ownership.

The Odo on my 4.2 S/C shows 18.5 average and I think it covers quite a long period. |

My Odo is showing 19mpg on the 4.2SC which I am happy with for such an engine and drive response. Mostly motorway driving though and a bit around town. I do get frustrated with filling stations that only allow 60-80litres per fill when I need 100litres to fill up. Current MY2020

A fill up costs approx £115 and to be honest lifes too short to get worked up about what miles it gives ,but when i do look out of curiosity i manage around 400 is which justifies it to me a little and makes me feel less guilty. However on the plus side you are driving about in one of the best vehicles in town and as i said earlier lifes too short ...so enjoy the small pleasures in life...dont forget there are others who only get to drive pretend 4x4! |

This is what I need to think. Before I got my FFRR I drove a 1.9tdi Audi A4. It cost £80 to fill up and would get me 600 miles per tank. I always knew I would be cutting that in half with the FFRR. But who cares, I've had it for 3 days and love it to bits. |

My mpg is way down to 13.9 at the minute, been using the car quite a bit with the snow, mostly to just mess about and going exploring, plus using it for work between appointments so it's all been short trips. Last time I filled it, I managed about 400 miles from a tank driving normally.

Best I've done on a full tank, before I got scared of running out was 476 miles, but I reckon on about 520 miles if I was brave (a bit like Clarkson's Jag). This averaging 40mph over two weeks - 30mph, 40 mph, 50 mph and 70 mph speed zones, mostly at commuting times. .

I'm getting around 13mpg at the moment on LPG, no matter whether I'm on local runs or motorway, I'm not really happy with this since I am expecting more like 15-18 on longer runs considering I'm not putting the right foot down hard, but intending to get the LPG serviced to try to improve it. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |
