I had a similar mod done on my Disco 4 and that was done under a TSB and paid for by Land Rover as it was considered a "design" issue. My understasnding is that this issue on the FF is also a"design" issues and the fix is also a TSB. Land Rover Approved, who are the warranty company within Land Rover, will not pay for work done under TSBs. However, Land rover only pay if the car has a Land Rover or Land Rover Approved warranty currently running on the car.

Mike, ring LR assist and tell them you get loads of smoke when you accelerate over 2500rpm, they will tell you to book in at a dealer which you tell them you have....this way when the dealer rings up for authorisation, LR will know about it and will be more likely to do the job under warranty.... ... - .- -.

After several attempts, LR Approved would not approve the mod, but Finally LR have agreed to fund the work as a "Good will" gesture. It is now booked in for the work early in the New Year.

Just had local dealer test drive mine and agree that it needs doing. Just got to give them a few days to get whoever in LR to agree to the work. They did say that warranty wouldn't cover it as it's not a failure. Regards

I was told that LR Approved warranty does not cover it, but that LR will only cover work on cars still in warranty, so my advice to anyone would be to get it done before your LR Approved warranty expires. Presumably this applies to early L405's as well. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

interesting to know how proser gets on, I'm presuming you are in the same position as me with an expired LR warranty but an AUC warranty still in force. In which case i need to figure out how to make it smoke.
