Another top point is when buying second hand beware of phones which are still locked to someone's iCloud account. This can't be removed without a lot of hassle. Generally if the phone is locked to an iCloud account it is probably stolen or a lost and found unit. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Good point. You'll want to make sure it isn't locked to a particular cell provider. Next, bring along a laptop with iTunes and try 'restore as new iPhone'. If anything like iCloud, find my phone, etc, is still in there, you have the seller there to make sure to release everything. (And if (s)he can't, walk away as it could be stolen.) |

Also, these iPhone 6 phones, have a tendency, to bend. I.e. If you sit on them, they can warp. And like many iPhones, the screens can crack. But the screen can be changed easily, for about £30 but don't try it yourself. And make sure, that the Touch ID works. If you change that part, it won't work, as it's linked to the board ID.

A 6+ With a 10 yo would be like an iPad on an adult. If you do get a 6 or 6s, let me know as I've got the kind of cases mentioned earlier in this thread. I reckon it'll make the phone pretty much unbreakabe. The only drawback is that it makes the phone unwieldy but you can have it FOC to try it. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I think, if he likes it, your son will figure out how to make it work. But he may have to go for those REALLY baggy pants to get it in a pocket. |
