Engine bay

Hi
Not sure this is correct forum but.
I am just finishing details of a full rebuild on my range rover l322 v8 m62.
Unfortunatly it grew and grew, and took a lot longer than expected. This means i could do with some engine bay pics including under the engine cover. Just to remind me where brackets go.
Anyway, any pics showing rad area and engine covers would be appreciated.
Phil

I've got the same model as you, I could pop out tomorrow and take a few pics for you. Give me an idea of where in the engine bay you would like them taken and I'll give it a go..

Thats a difficult one, i have dropped the engine and box back in and am about to refit the engine wiring loom amd the front rad etc etc.
So
Detail pics of wiring and brackets on top of engine under cover.
Detail pics of where wiring and water pipes are routed between rad and engine.
Amy other areas of engine bay wjere there are wiring runs or brackets.

Most runs are obvious, but sometimes brackets are missed or runs go under instead of over etc etc etc.

So to sumerise basically everything under bonnet and around gearbox.
If you felt like pulling the cabin air filter behind that looking down, but thats more than 5 minutes under the bonnet.

Its ironic in the pre computer days you bought a parts book and it showed you everything you could possibly want as regards assembleys woring etc. Now we have computers they dont show much, everything is split up hard to fond and generally confusing. Or does that just describe computers.....

Anyway if you want to post them for other peoples use or pm me and i can sent you my email address, the second is better for me as i can get more detail on them if i need to blow up a small area of them.

Thanks a lot for the over.
Phil

If you need more I have around 300 pictures from when I did my vanos and timing chain guides project a few weeks back but I won't be back at my PC until Saturday.
I took pictures of everything as I removed them, PM me if you need anything as something's may not be visible without removing a lot of parts

Thanks both of you, i have sent pms and i hope that will allow me to finish.

When i started this it was supposed to be a quick job but it increased dramatically as i went along, hence memory becoming poor.
As i stripped all bolts when into differant pots for differant items, which made the long delay less significant untill the small brackets stage. Anyway your help is greatly appreciated.

I had around 50 bags with the white strips on and wrote on where they came from as I too have had projects in the past that have overrun and everything looks really simple when you take them off....

Thanks,
Not noticed anything on these that will help, but then i am not staring in my bonnet at the moment.
As usual when you get near the end of a job life intervenes.
Twisted something my back whilst in Spain so i have not opened the bonnet foe 4 weeks, including holiday.
Hope i feel good to start next week, hence the request.

Interestingly if anyone is doing a front end cam chain job i would reccomend pulling the whole engine out.
I was doing a full rebuild so i had to, but it was so easy to pull out and drop back in ........

I have just done the full cam chain and guides job and i would not recommend taking out the engine !!1
it was straight forward enough without it and took long enough without adding anything to it and there is loads of room even with the rad in

As i said i was pulling anyway, but by the time you have taken off the bits to do the chains, all is left is the belhousing and torque converter. Amd lifting it out of course. Which is maybe 30 minutes. I am spoilt with a hydraulic powered engine crane, but it did come out in a few minutes.....
Of course if i was only doing the chain i might actually agree...

There is a thought that the torque converter only lasts 100000 miles, so perhaps it would also be a good time to do that too...

That is a good call for doing the torque converter at the same time, I did replace mine at 108K and all the other jobs that need doing like valley pan, pcv pipework and cam covers it would be easier to take the engine out rather than the transmission down if you have a lift as you say.
This is as far as I stripped mine down which didn't leave much behind.
