How on earth do you get the turbo to intercooler hose on the intercooler end?

I've got it on and the clips have locked but it's leaking air :'( brand new hose!!

HI had a similar problem with mine.

The clip lifts out out of the connector before you push the hose into position then snap the clip into the groove. Make sure that the groove on the intercollegiate is free from debris ( I e the old rusted clip on mine).

There's two grooves on mine, which one? Could you wobble it by hand? 

Hi sorry can't remember which groove it went into. I do now rember that the clip rotates on the hose which lifts it up so you can push it onto the intercooler then just rotate the clip and it should grip. Try it before you push the hose onto the cooler and you can see how it works. Run you finger around the intercooler groove to make sure it's clean or the clip won't grip and it pops/pulls off.

There is a bit of movement even when in place .

Really stumped now, I could hear that there was a leak somewhere, but couldn't feel it from that end of the hose.

Test drove the car home from work, and the turbo hose blew off the other end stuffed now!

I was going to replace the whole hose (as i had to buy one just for the clip) but when I looked at how hard it was to get to the turbo end I gave up. (My hose was in great condition - i'd just lost the clip)

Just a thought has it come off the turbo or off the metal expannsion pipe halfway along. - If it has it's easier to get to and held on by regular jubilee clamps.

I replaced just one half of the hose, with a Bearmach one.. http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/hose-turbo-int...5512.html, only replaced the bit in the picture as it did come with a 90 degree elbow which I guess is the other side of the metal pipe in the middle.

The hose came off the metal pipe, with the jubilee clip. I will have to find another way to work tomorrow and bring some tools home and put the pipe back on.. Just hope the leak is cured!

Noisy when the hose pops off isn't it!!

Good luck - yep very noisy and no power (if that's posible with a TD6 )

we have a very steep hill to our house and I thought i would need low range at one point!

Cheers, Hopefully isn't too bad. Lost my patience with the car today after fixing the suspension, got that working and thought a 10 minute job to change the turbo hose, RAVE doesn't even describe in detail how to do it, more of a guess job! 

Just another thought, I have just been reading the BMW forums and apparently the connections on the 335d (same pipe connection) has a seal in which is meant to be salvaged when removing.

I wonder if I've forgotten this and is why it's leaking air... Will have to check in the morning. This non genuine crap never comes with the bits you need! 

Just had a look at my spare in the garage. It looks like it's bonded onto the pipe- can't see a seal but the pipe is defo glued/bonded on. ( I can't even cut the damned think off).

That's the hose that blew off there, just put it back on now!

Went for a drive down the dual carriageway, got up to 80mph and it didn't come off again so maybe it's there to stay now.

Still got the whooshing noise / smoke out the back which I was convinced was the old hose leaking, so whether I haven't put the intercooler end on properly or not I will never know! Just see how it goes I suppose!
