Just wonder if I press the remote button now that OAT is 14 deg C, will only the blowers go on? If OAT is below 5 deg will the FBH come on? i.e if not <5 deg C the FBH won't come on even if activated by remote?

The manuals only discuss a 16 degC threshold

Just blowing ambient temp air this morn with no warmth..

Got the FBH to start firing up including clicking and small puff of smoke but it then shut down with a low crackling sort of noise. Tried it multiple times but did the same thing.

So frustrating and so close to working!!

I feel your frustration.
I have some issues with mine and wondering where to start looking or if i can be botherd. Cold mornings sometimes it fires up and pump clicks, most of time just fan comes on with no heat. I'm wondering if its a temp reading problem or not.

I tried it again today and it sounds like it is going to get going...makes the clicking sound and you can hear it building up and I get the odd puff of smoke but then it just idles after never really getting going and certainly no warm heat in car.

Until I pulled fuse 59 nothing happened so it is a step in the right direction. So far I've tried to start it every day in the vain hope it will kick in to life (assuming that <16 deg C is okay or does the temp need to be lower?) The manual says just <16 deg C.

I wish it was as easy to access as the Disco ones. removing the wheel arch cover and wheel etc looks like a pain!

Ha im the same. If it's fitted and supposed to work i will try my best to get it working. I try every morning.

May not work, but set your heater controls to a highish temperature and pull and replace the fuse. Apparently you need to reset after three failed attempts. Use the screen controls first. Leave the remote till you have got it working.

If that fails I think you need to be looking at servicing the FBH - pump, flame detector etc..

Also, is your battery fully charged, as low battery voltage can cause problems. John

I am getting the same problem with my FBH.
It should all work at 15 degrees or less.
At very low temperatures the FBH focuses on warming the engine rather than the cabin. But I am not sure at what temp this happens.

-20 Celsius.

Check sufficient fuel. Battery has sufficient charge. Water temp is cold...
Then if it doesn't fire up at 15 degrees or below, then there is a problem

From what you describe, if it initially fired up then closes down, your battery may not be sufficiently charged.

As I mentioned above, + 1 for vehicle battery charge state. I take it also that you are aware that the Park Heater will turn off if the ignition is on?

Re the remote, if its battery is in need of replacement then its lights will flash orange. John

thanks. kept mine on battery conditioner all day/overnight just in case and new batteries in remote..also try manual start on console a number of times.

The FBH is definitely spooling up but doesn't ever get to a proper sustained start. I did hear a crackling/rumbling creaking plastic sound a few times after the failed start.

Can you smell any fumes by the front left wheel arch? Any smoke coming out ?

Could be the burner is a little coked.

I can smell the fumes but only a small puff of smoke after it shuts off from an aborted start 😔 There is definitely a plastic creaking sound when it aborts..

These units are real simple. If your getting the clicking and a smell of fuel, all thats left is the glow plug. The burners have a gauze in them that the fuel gets fed into which is then ignited by the glow plug. Ill wager the gauze is clogged or you have a duff glow plug. No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue
