Hmmmmm, not sure LR is correct - I have seen a number of posts from people having the coupling replaced under warranty. Not sure if they were petrol or TD6 tho.

Well that's a bit of an eye opener.... I wonder if they were done under the service recall as opposed to a sales warranty.....

My TD6 was done as part of the recall . Back in 2008 or whenever it was all pre terrain response cars bar the jag engined cars were considered as at risk of prop shaft failure. 2008 MY Supercharged

Miggit, why not ask Dan to check the part numbers for the 4.4 V8 and the TD6 for your model year. If they turn out to be identical I don't see how JLR could possibly wriggle out of it. |

This will be of no comfort to you, but one of the first things I checked on my Td6 was whether it has had the post-mod diff fitted, and yes, it has.

Well they should have the parts, as all they do is change the prop for the later assembly.

I've just had a look at the link that Zulu posted, and if you read the Investigations tab, there is no mention whatsoever about petrol or diesel engined cars, just those manufactured at Solihull!

Service Action Q041 covered both petrol and diesel models. The expiry date was extended many times.

Please forgive me if I have got a firm grasp of the wrong end of the stick, but when you say "no way of setting bearing loads correctly" I presume you mean no way with diff in the vehicle. I know that it's a PITA but have you considered removing the diff and taking it to a specialist? The place I have in mind is BGH Geartech in Cranbrook - assuming that Brian is still alive of course, God bless him, irascible doesn't do just to him, but he's the only person that I trust with my competition car diffs. |

This guy had 85% of the bill paid for by Land Rover, as a goodwill gesture, in April 2014 : http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/6-range-r...post783746
