grrr mutliple faults

I had the terrain response inactive ,handbrake fault , abs fault and lowered suspension come up on my dash about a month ago but after being parked up overnight it all disappeared so i thought oh well maybe a one off ,so yesterday exactly the same occurred after doing the same maneuver in the same place as last time which is going halfway round a roundabout and then taking the exit i want .

This time i thought oh well take it to the main dealers and get the codes checked out/cleared ,so after nearly two hours of waiting there the girl come out and says there was loads of faults but the technician couldn't clear them and they want another couple of hours to go right into it and find the route cause ,by this time it's 1630 and i have places to be so i say ok when i get time i'll bring it back in.

I get in and start her up no issues no fault lights so i drive 5ft and the transmission overheat light comes on and then all the others pop back up and it's back to square one but it's driving ,on the way home I stop off to pick some bits up and get back in and yet again no faults so i raise the suspension and drive off except it makes some strange knocking noise and is really holding back and the transmission overheat message lights up again and then there a thud noise and it lurches forward and lowers the suspension and back to square one

tomorrow it's going back to them to find out how they have made it worse but in the meantime any one had this or got any ideas L322 2008 vogue

Multiple, unrelated faults being reported is usually a dodgy battery.

Hi Ivor. The 2007/08 TDV8 has a common issue with most needing a replacement alternator at some point ( mine went at 80k) so worth checking the Alternator output. The voltage should be around 14.4v at tickover. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

just chucked the charger on there and ran a few tests it's getting 14.6v with the engine running and it has 300amps but when i turned the engine off and checked again the battery is only showing 60% so i've left it on charge and i'm going to see what comes of it thanks for the advice luckily the battery has a lifetime warranty on it L322 2008 vogue

Recently had exactly the same, was traced to a faulty alternator causing voltage spikes. Had it replaced, all ok so far...

Well it took the main dealers 3 hours to find the fault which turns out to be a Abs sensor knackered and a dead Abs module hopefully get it back tomorrow but more likely monday L322 2008 vogue
