I think it was all the FBH I've been using, 20 mins before I went out. When I got back home (2 miles) I stuck a meter across the jump terminals and it showed only 70% charge. Car does 40 motorway hours a day, so should keep well charged. Alternator seems to be putting out enough voltage (12.85V)

It's only a 90AH Land Rover badged battery. So the 110AH one will last longer before draining and more importantly the Cold Cranking power is much better 920A compared to 480A

Costco is great for batteries. If I recall, I bought a 100A/h Bosche for £84 with a 5 year warranty for our old BMW. That was compared to the BMW dealer 90A/h with 2 year warranty for £136.

Shouldnt it be pumping out around 14.4V? With absolutely everything loaded I would expect to see 12.5V output. 

Agreed, every alternator I've ever checked has been 14.4v. You might want to get it checked out? 2006 Mercedes CLS

In an ideal world one would want to check the output right off the back of the alt' however this is not really possible. Just make sure your connections are good and your battery terminals are clean/tight when you test.

As Dan says not possible to easily get to the alternator outs, so I took the reading accross the jump terminals. Does 12.85V still seem low from there?

It does seems low. It doesnt leave much margin for error - ie if you start turning lights, heater blower, heates screen, wheel and seats on.
