I thought it was a good price all right, and with the overall condition, service history and how it drives I was very happy to proceed, even though I did buy it blind from Ireland!!

Is there anything I should do now apart from a general service to keep her good?

Also, got the back left door working, it was on childlock... Rolling with laughter

Regarding the front heated seat. The fan turns on each time at about 50% power for less than a second, then switches off. Any ideas, I read something about a pipe becoming disconnected?

I worked for authorities that had 3.6 tdv8 L322s as motorway patrol vehicles, they were around the 150k mark when decommissioned, a couple suffered from turbo failure (one was lucky and had replacements and was back in action, the other ran on and killed the engine) but as you can imagine these had very, VERY hard lives. Towing lorries from live lanes onto the hard shoulder, pursuit work etc.

If I were to buy a TDV8 i'd blank and map the egr valves out (many diesels I've stripped with dead turbos, usually have an egr valve on the way out, this can cause premature failure of turbos) that and regular oil changes with good quality oil

EGR/turbo issues aside we didn't encounter any other engine faults, it seems the basic block is very robust. Far better than the BMWs that ran along side them (timing chain anyone?)
