Does the 8 speed suffer from juddering like the 6 speed?

Drove my car today in town and a couple of times it seemed as though it couldn't decide what gear to go in? At the same time got a slight judder Shocked . One of my old D3s a few years ago had a very similar problem and a gearbox megaflush cured it and i wondered if anyone had similar issues with the 8 speed
Mine has done around 90k so i assume the gearbox oil/filter will be original
thanks in advance

The 8 speed is much more difficult to flush, as there is a thermostat in the cooler pipework that doesn't open until 75 degrees C.
This means that the oil has to be fully up to temperature, as well as the new oil being introduced has to be above 75 degrees too.

Saw this, and got your FB message. Thought it best to reply here Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up Cheers Mike, sent you the FB message first Mr. Green . Looks like its just a drain/refill then?. At least some of the oil will be new. Will see how it behaves from now on, and if it does it again i will get some oil and a filter and see if it continues. Have also heard of an ECU flash at dealers for a similar problem so may have to contact my local stealers and ask the question Paul

Hmm, that makes interesting reading Thumbs Up . It pretty much describes the fault i have got. I cannot replicate the fault and it doesn't happen every time. Think this may be the way to go at first

Have you had the software update done? and did it cure your problem?
Thanks pld118 Thumbs Up

Not had it done yet Paul. It's not a major issue and doesn't happen all the time. It's a case of finding the time to get it to a MD to have it done but I think it was somewhere between £50 and £100 they were going to charge to do the software update which I understand others feel cured it.

Ok, thanks. Will have a word with my local stealers tomorrow and see what they say. Don't mind paying £100 if it cures it and prolongs the life of the box. Mine has also only done it a couple of times but is alarming when it does Shocked

Cheers
