RR lunges to right under breaking

Hi all, I have a problem lately when I brake hard around 60 - 70 mph , the RR slows evenly ( no pulling to left or right on the steering ) but lunges to the right . If i brake with no hands on the steering gently , it does not move to either left or right. This leads me to believe braking balance is ok ( got new pads and discs yesterday, fitted by a specialist , so not them ) Suspension or bushings ?? any thoughts ? Thanks in advance

Sticking left side callipers would be where I would start looking

Thanks, was worried it might be suspension ,bit is rises and lowers evenly, without delay.New to RR world, so lots to learn.

First check tyre pressures then have a good look at all bushes,especially anti roll.Could be shocks so look for any wet patches.Shame you cannot see your old pads as any uneven wear is a dead giveaway!

I am assuming that the lunging was present before the brake service? Then it should have been caught on the test drive by the tech. If the problem was not present before, then it was the tech.

Brakes are not that complex. It does not sound like a sticking caliper to me - that would manifest itself under light braking just as under hard. Sounds more like air in the system. Either way, it is not ok for a 'specialist' to do brakes and send a car back out without noticing a serious issue (and unless you are grossly exaggerating, I'd consider lunging to one side under braking to be a very serious issue). Go back and get the problem resolved.

New brakes, shouldn't do that so i would take it back and ask them to come along for a ride. If they have only done the pads and discs then they shouldn't have been at the hydraulic part at all, no need to bleed the brakes, if they changed the fluid that is another matter.

Could they have got some grease on the new discs? could cause uneven braking. Easy enough to check for a sticking caliper though, simply take it for a drive for 10 mins, park it up and leave it for 5, then come out an see if any of the discs is noticeably hotter than the rest. It tends to be the rear which stick and they don't tend to have an impact on the steering during braking, the brembos on the front are more reliable and don't tend to have as many problems. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Got same problem

Hi did you ever sort your problem I have exactly the same problem I have changed every thing new struts wheel bearings hubs steering rack track rods drum sticks and all ball joints bushes and arms discs and pads looks like I should have stated with the calipers lol

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a sticking rear calliper - it felt like the front but it was the rear

Thanks for the info I will check them as well I've bought rebuild kis for the front calipers I might as well do the backs
