Mick, I think we all know they weren't exactly usable when they were new. Reliability worse than a FFRR, not a lot of comfort, my 1.8 TC, which wasn't exactly a slouch, came on 145 tyres so it had all the cornering ability of a supertanker, that crappy trunnion based front suspension rattled like the clappers of hell, a radio that faced the passenger, vinyl seats which were freezing in the winter and skin removingly hot in the summer. Christ, it really was a POS. Hindsight and rose tinted spectacles do tend to produce some rather skewed memories. It was, and remains just another awful feck from BL. If it was a horse they'd have shot it. |

I remember always being told that British Leyland were the inventors of the seat belt.

I'm kind of surprised that's all its worth - I guess not the rarest or most desirable, but even so.....

My Dad had a Ford Corsair as well! It was a 2 litre bou only the DeLuxe model, I wanted him to get a 2000E but he couldnt afford it! They also did a Corsair GT which had an extra binnacle on the dash with extra instruments! Really pedestrian friendly front end on them!! After that he got an early 70's Vauhall Victor FE which I think had the 2.2 litre engine, known as 'The Walzer' as in 'the loder you scream the faster we go'!! |

In the 70s I regularly drove a Victor FE. It was one of the unmarked surveillance cars we had.
