In the UK we got the Datsun 120Y which would have been the equivalent I think. Much better mechanically but rusted just as rapidly as the Marina. There were no common platforms back then either so the Marina was indeed 100% British Leyland. |

Yep, we had the 120Y, too, but they were somewhat later than the 1200.

Just to maintain continuity with this thread - my Dad used to have a Morris Nomad - a derivative out of BMC in Aus - somewhere in 70's as best I can remember. Used to tow our little caravan and strangely always overheated in 40C days, had to run the heater the whole time - just what one wants - before AC was even thought about.

I, too, had a Nomad. I kept a bottle of Hydrolastic fluid at home and a modified brake master cylinder to attach to keep it pumped up - shades of my P38A!

My mates old man had one of these a Ford Corsair remember as a kid we thought it was some sort of car from Thunderbirds 😄😄😄 must have been because of the front of it ...
