Detachable Tow Bar

Hi guys, long time no speak. I am trading my 57 RR for (unsurprisingly) another RR 2011. Is it easy to take off the tow bar and electrics and fit to the new car, or is it more complicated than I can imagine? No body told me there would be days like these

will the car need a data down load of some description to let it know there is now a tow bar fitted, heard tales that it needs to know for the electrics and suspension etc.? No body told me there would be days like these

Not if you have the genuine LR kit with ECU. You would need to remove the towing ecu and harness and fit it to the new car. It's going to be easy enough to find as it's connected to the towing electrics harness.

Electrics won’t work as they changed from 2009my> so, you will need a new plug in harness for the 2011 Thumbs Up (no ECU on 2009> Thumbs Up

Obviously your used wiring/ECU kit will have a used resale value Thumbs Up

can't fault the PF Jones wiring kits and there range of tow bars.

I've just fitted one to my 2007 and was easy to fit, it was done in a couple of hours.

Wiring is just plug and play for me no reprograming that is branded around on the web.

I did mine laying on the driveway like I have done with all 4 tow bar's I've fitted The MOT Track days Test Dummy

Or just ask Dan how much it is.

I can't remember how much mine was for the FF but its only a socket and some wires, and I'm sure it will work though there are settings in the CCF which should be changed thats not to say it won't work if they aren't.....

In terms of the metalware it should just swap straight over, but as said the towing eye and hangers will need swapping over to the old car, a few big bolts and you will be set. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
