in car phone to bluetooth - i'm getting confused?

At present I've got a cradle in the armrest for an unknown phone and the previous owner has had a parrot kit fitted. I'd like to ditch the parrot and just use OEM stuff if possible but I'm getting confused, I think most of the info seams to be for the older BMW stuff and I don't want to go buying the wrong thing.

Is it as simple as unplugging the current nokia box in the LH rear compartment and replacing it with a nokia bluetooth variant? Current

Is this for the td6 in your profile, or the tdv8 in your signature?

I'm guessing the tdv8 as you refer to the "older" BMW stuff...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've only fitted "OEM" Bluetooth to my td6, which was BMW based, so can't help you I'm afraid. The talk on here about re-pinning and ULF's is only for the early non touchscreen.

There are a few on here who should be able to though....

A 2007 should come with Bluetooth - IIRC the arm rest holder was more of a charger - there should still be bluetooth.

I suspect that the BT unit packed up at come point - not sure why someone would have installed an aftermarket Parrot system otherwise..... unless it does streaming music, or something that the factory unit doesn't.

When scanning for pairing, I assume Land Rover doesn't pop up as an option ?

No nothing comes up on my phone, when I press the phone button on the headunit it just says phone not connected or something like that.
The parrot system is the basic no frills Bluetooth system. Current

I would suspect a dodgy BT unit - but clearly hard to diagnose remotely.

So.... had a quick look in the boot again, the nokia box is there but with nothing plugged in to it. When I get chance I pull it out and check the part number.

The IIDtool can do the firmware update/reflash can it not?? with having a parrot fitted I'd take a guess that my nokia module has thrown its toys out of the pram so i've nothing to lose trying flash it and it looks like Wiggs wouldn't do an exchange on it. Current
