Euro Car Parts-used to be the trades favourite

Borrowed my mates ramp today and got to work on her indoors BMW 530's gearbox oil and filter change.
Had bought the ZF kit of filter, fluid and new bolts off them last week.
Drain oil, remove filter and then find that its the wrong one. Ring the garage rep at Euro to be told there's two types... something not mentioned when I was in store the week previously. He then tells me I can't have one till next Monday. Thats alright then, I'll just put the old one back and throw in the £80's worth of new fluid. NOT !!

Found a local factor who reckoned he could get me the filter for 3 pm so took the other kit back, minus the oil to collect a refund. Thanked them for leaving me with a vehicle stuck on a ramp. You'll have to bring the oil back they say and then purchase a new lot of oil only. Ten minute stand off while I suggest they work out a cost and just bill me for the oil I already have. Then one of them asks me the reg again, hits the computer and tells me they have the other filter in stock !!

They have become a bunch of amateur buffoons and seem only interested in trying to win over the basic DIY'ers with cheap offers on car battery chargers and stick on accessories.

I swopped the filter and left... didn't want to waste two hours waiting for the other one to arrive.

They've never done me a bad turn, no wrong orders, no silly prices, good stock levels. Meh, I like them, way more that 5h1tpart, that's for sure

Not a lover of ecp. I also have a BMW 8 Series and needed pollen filters. Its cheaper to buy them from the main dealer Banging Head Banging Head 2015 Range Rover VSE 4.4 SDV8. 1998 BMW 840 Sport, 2008 Aston Martin DB9

ECP are alright if you know the part you want, and are aware of any differences/choices in parts. And you reserve online and collect from store Thumbs Up

+1, never turn up to buy a part, instead, park outside, and look up part on your phone, place a collect order, and save money. It's daft but it's always cheaper, unless, it's a promoted consumable.
If buying oil, enquirer about a 25ltr drum, they work out mega value, against 5ltr multi buys.
From my Indy part factor past shopping, there are hardly any old school part factors' still trading.

Same issue here with them. I think they have cut costs too much in day to day running and let the guys on decent money who know what's what from experience go and replaced them with guys on half as much and then target them to sell sell sell to much Sad

Jeep parts from them are silly prices for stuff that's not even OE so I just don't bother now.

And don't get me started on the discount code scam! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Mostly I've found them very good although not infallible.

Their on-line part number for my Wrangler air filter is incorrect. When I took it back to change the guy asked if mine was the one with a metal screen. It was, so he clearly knew what the correct one was, and had one in stock.

However, on returning from an extended trip, I found both my X5 and Z4 had completely flat batteries. At 3.00 in the afternoon it was clear they were both knackered and a call to my local ECP in Ashford and by 5.00 (they delivered batteries for both within an hour) they were both sporting new batteries and purring like kittens. Can't fault that kind of service. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

If you go to their sister company
http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/
has same web layout but parts can work out cheaper delivered to your door than going to collect them Whistle
