2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

4.2 SC tappetty noise

Hi guys

Noob here - recently acquired a 57 plate 4.2 SC FF. Well happy with it.

However, there seems to be a tappetty noise originating from the passenger side of the engine. Sounds like some belt rubbing against something. It's definitely not coming from inside the block. I've recorded two videos one from inside the engine bay and one from the passenger side wheel arch.

Please could someone have a look and point me in the right direction.

Sounds like the tensioner?

Need to get the covers off and have a look around.

Timing chain or is there a tensioner for the supercharger belt?

That engine should be whisper quiet on tickover. mine is.

Exactly, but it's not and is driving me nuts. Just wanted some comments before taking it into an Indy.
