you should never do that..the FF's battery isnt up to the job and you must have the engine running if you watch a dvd or tv.. ... - .- -.

You can get some more life out of it by adding a 2nd battery in the boot. I did this on an 07 VSE and it would still start after a couple of hours. You can get a Gel battery for the front of 105ah and a similar one for the back of 60ah. Both will deep cycle and still give a start at 70% discharge.

The RR is barely able to power the clock without draining the battery over a few days, I am tempted to add a second battery in the boot. Tom

Mine has the second battery in the boot (courtesy of dan_1984_uk) and have never had a prob. Original LR battery too! Now over 7 yrs old!

I've just spent £200 on a decent cool box that heats and shuts down if battery gets low - I thought might be handy if I buy milk at dinner at work as I can't be bothered to call at the shop on the way home....

As Dolphonboy pointed out, the 2nd battery gives another 60 or so amp hours. My Engel was left on pretty much all the time and never caused a problem. Mind you, if yours has a Peltier unit it will draw a lot more current than a compressor fridge does as the compressor turns off once it's down to temperature. |
