This needs to be taken with a pinch of salt....true in so far as machining whilst holding the handle doesnt give you the same finite control as holding the machine as if it wasnt fitted, but the D handle if left in place does allow you to put down your machine without it rolling over and picking up grit onto the pad I dont have one fitted on my rotary as it doesnt tend to roll over, but have left it on on my DA for that exact purpose. I dont use it when machining though Vince - Pallas Auto Refinishing |

Having less and less time means the weekly Saturday routine for keeping our two cars clean is getting harder to fit in. I usually pressure clean, shampoo and towel dry. I also clay bar and wax every 6 mths. As the cars live outside I often have to give them a wipe over to deal with bird and bat droppings before they eat into the paint.

A good tip for those thinking of using an electric( or air polisher.) To protect the edges /swage lines on panels,we use 3M fine line tape. Comes in 2 widths 3mm and 6mm .Carefully stick it ( raised ) areas before polishing. You can polish over it ,as you do the panel. Comes off easily.Available on e bay about £5 a roll/ 36 yds long.. |
