Hi,
Found these as alternative replacement batteries,

http://www.vapextech.co.uk/7-2v-battery-pa...extech-rx/

For the electrically minded is there a good reason not to ugrade to 950 mAh from the 800 mAh, would it overload the recharging circuitry?

£8.44 inc delivery!

Just double checked the size......no good, please disregard Evil or Very Mad Regards

these look pretty good

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-2V-NiMH-Single...8L5bQrfs5g

type G £5.95 for 6 inc delivery with the tags on to simplify the construction and hopefully not require cutting down the splines.

or if you don't mind spending a bit more £18.99 + £5.99 delivery then this is pack that just needs the two ends soldered.

Hi all. About to fix my cam and on a certain site you can get 7.2V 1300Ah pack for a remote control car , etc for 5 stg

Any reason this could not be used with correct connection fitted ? 2015 4.4 AB

mainly because most of the battery packs with that capacity are based on AA cells rather than AAA cells so won't fit. you may get lucky though.

Also if you are talking about the 'zippy' one on that site - it is actually two 3.6V lithium cells in series and would make quite a good job of setting fire to the car or blowing a passengers knee off.

Basically you can't charge lithium batteries without a special charger - otherwise they keep drawing current and overheat and then either catch fire or explode. I had to buy the wife a new freezer after I did some experiments on charging them. I was using the right charger but was experimenting with gently charging them at low temperatures. They don't like that much either!

Mines in bits on my desk and while taking it apart the plug that connects the PCB from the battery just disintegrated into pieces.

Anyone know where I can get another 5 pin from? Range Rover quotes.....

My dock doesn't stay in place. I used a bit of paper to hold it in and it has charged up and is working fine. Batteries are probably still holding a charge because it hasn't been charged much, although not sure how much charge they will hold as only played with it for a few minutes.
