TBH, taking the initial example of FF5 5TUD, illegal as it may be, it's more memorable like that, so it's probably beneficial to everyone. As long as the actual letters are the same and correct in size, I don't think the spacing really matters at all. The fact the law says otherwise may mean it is a slight issue for human recognisation if pre-known, but if the law permitted it, everyone would expect it and no-one would bat an eyelid. Why it bothers people so much I have no idea!!! Actually annoys me that people get so hung up about it!! You must have nothing else going on in your life if you get annoyed or frustrated about somebody else's number plate. |

Was behind some sort of Peugeot sports car in Liverpool today with a plate in this exact format. ( can't remember first letter so have put an X )

they will alert the police if you have no insurance or you're banned etc but not for dodgy number plates .. ... - .- -. Y. O. L. O. . |
