I recon that'll be a job, and it will need a rebuild Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I will hopefully know by COB tomorrow what the problem & proposed solution is when I will post an update. I just spent £300 having a squib replaced as the Airbag light was staying on and it would have failed the pending MOT. |

As ctc's reply, mine was slipping really bad, but after a while waiting for b/down truck it drove on no problem.

UPDATE: I drove the RR to a gear box specialist and they confirmed the worst - gear box needs to be stripped & repaired @ £1,900 plus VAT! On the plus side I was able to drive the RR for about 100 miles before I left it with the garage. They said that gear boxes in my RR tend to go between 90k - 120k. I drove into the garage forecourt as the clock turned 141k. When I pick it up after Easter I'll provide a further update. Whatever happened to the days when hi spec vehicles could be relied upon to do 250k - 300k miles before they'd collapse - especially in an RR!

Im sorry chaps but........... I don’t agree, that gearbox is used I’m many different cars and fails in all of them! NOT JLR’s fault and certainly not the poor old RR’s fault

But Why did they agree to a gearbox that's rated at 350 Nms max with an engine that produces 390 Nms, it just doesn't compute, especially when you look at the vehicle weight spec's for the box... I believe that the Range Rover is 0.6 tons too heavy... basically it's not fit for purpose.. if I had brought the car from new I reckon I'd be talking to a lawyer by now..

Apparently the gearbox is actually a General Motors box which is fitted and delivered by BMW under licence? I will find out the the precise detail on that when I collect the RR.
