O-rings are measured by their ID and cross-section, in mm for metric sizes. I expect the CS to be either 1.78 mm or 2.62 mm as the next size up is 3.53 mm which looks too big from your pictures. ID from the pictures looks to be 9.25, 10.82 or 12.42 in CS 1.78 or 9.19, 10.77 or 12.37 in CS 2.62. If outside these ranges then I'll post the other nearby sizes. Standard imperial sizes in small o-rings are either 1/8" CS or 3/16" CS. Hopefully your box of o-rings shows whether you used an imperial or metric size.

Part# LR033343 costing 100+ GBP excl VAT plus the work to change it doesn't seem a good alternative to replacing 2 o-rings. I haven't found any reference to the reason for the new part# but perhaps the seals are visibly different.

Now this is a good thread Cam-Tech-Craig ( Top man once again ) - Thumbs Up

I am going to order the part in question from LR in the week.

2 main reasons

1. I wanna see what size the O-ring is BRAND NEW / UN-USED ( measure it )
now by measureing it - I am going to take it to a specialist O-ring supplier in the UK and get the part number/what O-ring it is - they will have the proper kit to measure it and identify it.

2. To see if the new LR part has been modified along the way ? - ie v1 or v2 etc....

Once I have found the O-ring in question - I will report back and let everyone know

A) The product code of this O-Ring
B) Where to get them from - contact details
C) How much

having said that once we find this O-Ring part - I would suggest that you change it every 20K or so - as it seems to be a very important bit - and from what I have read above - its a 1 hour job if that

A great offer Emirates777 - thanks. However if the o-rings have been upgraded to Viton then they should withstand the heat for a far greater time.

The pipe is the top one in the picture.

Tell me can you get theses Vinton O-Rings at source ?

Or are you saying this is what we need to get ? - Vinton over the OE ?

I am going to have a word with one of the Boeing engineers when I can get my hands on the OE FFRR O-ring.

Im starting to think if they are used by Boeing in any component - then they will be excellent for a FFRR

They are based in Derby.
If they have a minimum order quantity.

C/D in your picture, just slightly off-centre. The pollen filter housing is huge (the full width of the engine) so when its removed (just 2 nuts) there is easy access over the rear of the engine once you climb on top although a mirror is required because the pipe bolt faces forwards.

Bearing suppliers and engineering suppliers can usually order single Viton o-rings once the size is known. There are several o-ring compounds but Viton is the popular one for high temperatures where petroleum products are encountered. although there are different Viton compounds too They're normally used inside gearboxes etc because standard o-rings wont survive the temperature.

Having one from a new pipe would be good although it may have already been stretched. I assume that Craig chose one that fits snugly without too much stretch, so measuring another should allow its size to be accurately identified. O-rings have standard sizes so the next size up or down wont do the job.

Start with measuring the cross-section as ID sizes are different for different CS.
