Seat Envy

It would appear my 2003 Vogue has had the drivers seat changed unless you informative lot can tell me otherwise!!

The passenger seat has an extra switch to move the headrest and top half of the back rest whereas my seat seems devoid Sad

If ,my suspicions are correct either the button panel has been changed for one without the additional switch on the drivers side or the whole seat has been changed.

Can anyone advise on the correct terminology for this kind of seat, and if my thoughts are correct, anybody know a good breakers to get a drivers seat from

Cheers all 2003 V8 Vogue in Silver

might it be possible, that you have a vogue, and the drivers seat button pack, has been changed for a secondhand one from an HSE? i would guess they are the same looking. but one has more buttons. although the seat shape is different, on the HSE, and doesnt have the back tilt facility at least. i think you can pick the switch packs up for about £40 ebay etc.

not sure regarding a weak point. but if you put some pictures up, it will help out. it could be that the seat button pack was bought, by request, and not by chassis number. so it was ordered wrongly. -but worked, sort of. im only guessing. dont spend your money yet!

Not a known weak point at all, but like I said if we could see the seats and the switch pack with the fewer buttons we can tell you more . 2008 MY Supercharged

JohnBoy you maybe onto something. I just had another look and noted that the headrest has no manual adjustment and can't be moved, this now leads me to believe that the switch pack and trim may have been replaced at some point.

i cant comment anymore, as you have i think mid-term range seats, i have early seats. my seats have a third button (for the headrest, up down, and backilt,) and i thought the hse only had the two buttons. if you look on ebay for seat switch packs, you will see the ones im talking about from early cars. and the tiny thrid button. maybe your drivers pack has a fauly knob.

--edit.. just looked again at your pics. i think above is true...

dont go getting all shy regarding 'knob envy' with your mid-late range seats though.

maybe edit your car details on your avatar, so when we hover over it, we see your model spec. and colour etc. this helps

---edit...now you have put pics up i need to look at mine, but thats going to be at the weekend etc.

The more i look at it, the more i am convinced the switch pack has been changed.
The drivers side does not have the third small switch to do the headrest and upper back rest, however i reasonably certain the seat is original and has the functionality. Looking on the bay of E I have noted that there are very few drivers side switch packs available and those that are range from about £110 to £140. A replacement correct interior is around £300

might have to wait a month or so 2003 V8 Vogue in Silver

I wanted to rule out that the seat itself had not been changed.

Agree with the above, looks like the switch pack has been changed as both seats have the top half fore and aft adjustment and electric headrest raising.

The plastic side panel can often get damaged (not sure how people do it as I've never broken anything in any of my cars) but maybe it's from really fat drivers sliding out the car and it breaks. Maybe someone did that and then replaced the entire panel complete with switch pack.

All Vogue, Vogue SE and AB models had adjustable headrest, yours is clearly missing that. Discovery 4 HSE

Bit of further investigation confirms the switch pack has been changed..

At around the £150 mark for one on ebay compared to £35 for a non vogue one I can see why they did it, just worries me now what else they did on the cheap.

Thats one for next payday 2003 V8 Vogue in Silver

I don't think either switch packs look right if I'm honest.

Where is the switch to move the top half of the backrest forwards and back ? On either....

Sold my 2003 Vogue now so can't check.... Could be wrong but don't think I am..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
