just wondering, on the newer touch screen system in the 2010> models how can we update the maps?

I know it is HDD system, but is there some way of updating the maps? presumably there is someway to get the data into the system but reading some stuff on it, it seems to be dealer only. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

LOL - I would like to know that too for my 2010 TDV8.

All my enquiries led to the dealer - and he wanted 273 quid (from memory) to download the software from JLR and load it in to my car.

I told him that for that price I could buy a lot of maps and/or get two or three of Halfords cheapo Tom-Tom devices!

Jeez.... I wonder if the dealer has to pay per upload? If not could be worth £50 to the workshop manager Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Had mine updated. The dealer have to get a lock code from navteq or Land Rover (can't remember) then they can update the hard drive with newer maps. I don't think its right up to date meaning the mapping could be either year 12/13. I'll check tomorrow to see what year it updated to. I think the dealer charged me £160.

Had my satnav updated last summer before a trip to France. Even then, the map wasn't fully up to date and the system still sends you miles out of the way. It is a dealer only job as mentioned. I got a call from my tracker company whilst it was being done. Keys have to be left in and so it set off the tracker alarm!
