Just as a matter of interest: On the rare occasions that I drove my Classic 3.9 at over 100mph I was struck by the fact that one could see the fuel gauge move - does that happen at high speeds in the 405 5.0 SC? Only Range Rovers since 1988

What is so special about high speeds? Seriously, much better than my previous petrol ones. JLR solved this by fitting an enormous fuel tank which slows down the gauge.

Angel, I need to ask you a favour: I'm not going to Germany anytime soon so could you try to VMax your car for us. On a derestricted autobahn with no traffic and clement weather as we would like you to still be with us to report back of course!

I wouldn't recommend trackdaying a Range Rover, I can't see the point. Only interested to know how fast it goes on a straight line. Even though there's no real pleasure in driving a Range Rover on the limit. There are more suitable cars to take out on a track day!
