I assume you mean just Land Rover as the type-R Jags would not sell too well when compared to the Germans which are limited to 155mph (unless you pay more of course).

Maybe I should try V-max on the M6 (Lancashire and the Lakes) and get the constabulary to verify your belief?

Yes Nick, may well be well out of date with my statement though! But do seem to remember something about this a while ago... Whistle

Could have been P38’s
Could have been L322’s???
Could still be in place today on current cars?

Hi Craig,

I'm not certain if a P38 could get past 130mph (I seem to recall 4.6 was about 125mph). The L322 is almost certainly limited to 130mph (my TDV8 certainly was) with the exception of the 5.0 sc. The L405 slowest model quoted is 130mph.

In the past I think it was more about the tyre performance?

They are limited to 130mph unless factory fitted with 22s and then it's 155mph.

As above. There is certainly no relevant legislation about it.

If they are factory limited to 130mph, why publish the Vogue SDV8 as able to do 135mph? It doesn't come with 22's as standard.

We need a test track and a selection of forum cars! 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

4.4 TDV8 L322 is limited to 130 mph, L405 TDV6 130, SDV8 135, Hybrid 135 and Supercharged 155 with 22"s.

I took my SDV8 VSE (20in wheels) down to Munich and do not remember hitting the limiter and unless the speedo was +20% in error it was showing in excess of 150mph.

Haven't tried it in an L405, but the limiter in a late L322 TDV8 definitely doesn't allow any leeway - it just stops accelerating at 130.

Maybe the L405 limiters are like some BMW ones (i.e. they don't really do much limiting).

I think I could have gone past 250 KM/H - 155 MPH as it was still accelerating and had to back off because a Panamera got in the way. Bloody Porsche drivers! It certainly didn't feel like there was a limiter at this speed. I have to try it again and report back!

My 3.6 TDV8 L322 was definitely limited, cannot remember the 4.4 TDV8 L322 going any quicker either.

As said its all a bit of a nonsense as far as German stuff is concerned. The 155 was a sop for the Green Party way back. Now you pay an extra lump of money and hey presto your M5 will do 176mph or whatever. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Is anyone else with a Supercharged on 22's going to Germany anytime soon?

I'm due over early next year. Looking for an excuse to go earlier though!
