Are these settings editable?

Hi

Can the IID tool or similar do this?

1. Change length of time to hold the right hand paddle to switch back to manual
2. Stop interior lights coming on when you turn engine off.

Thanks

M.

Interesting requests?

Why would you want to do either of those?

Faultmate lists a CCF option to not have interior lights active with ignition at accessories or off but then they wouldn't work when a door is opened unless the ignition was on.

Thanks for replies guys. I just don't like the lights coming on when I stop at night and it always feels like I have to hold the right paddle just too long to switch back.

I for one would love to be able to turn off the light feature for shooting at night. We quite often sit in the cars if a fox has been around the sheep. Ed

On later vehicles at least, the interior lights can be disabled or enabled by pressing and holding the light switch for 3 seconds.

Thanks. I don't want to disable lights coming on when you open doors, just when you switch off engine.

I seem to remember that there are settings that can be changed to do with interior lighting but not sure anymore, too long ago I played with it. There are also "police settings" I wonder if they would affect the interior lights although I don't see Range Rovers as good "stake out" cars Wink

Why don't you have a look on the BBS forum and ask if anyone there has been able to change those settings with their faultmate ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Sorry about that, correct the Black Box Solutions forum on their website OR you can of course ask the very nice people at GAP, the makers of the famous IID tool if the option is there OR if they would be so kind to program it in if that is in any way possible.

The interior lights thing, I know there are some settings that you can play with but not sure if they include the one you are after.

On the paddle timing I think Craig is right (well he probably is right about the lights as well Smile ) but won't hurt to ask.

The thing is the IID and Faultmate and the likes can turn on/off features that are programmed into the ECUs, they can't reprogram the ECUs (only update software that is provided by JLR). I'm sure that they would technically be able to program ECUs or update the programs/software themselves but that would be very costly and no return on investment so not commercially viable for them.

So if we do find a forum member that is a wizard on that sort of programming and would like to fill his/her evenings with playing with the ECU software, then you'd be in luck (well we'd all be). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

What confuses things even further, is that even if the option is there, it doesn't necessarily work. There is an option for "Interior Lights Not Active With Ign in Auxiliary or Off" in D3/RRS CCFs (but I don't know if it works) so I wouldn't think it unusual if a similar option is there for the L322 (can't check as I don't have a L322 license).

I expect the chaps at GAP would be able to write firmware for it, it but I doubt it'd ever be worth their while for the time it'd take.

I intend trying the "interior lights not active" option in case its misdescribed and actually operates in the reverse.
