22in wheels tyre pressures

I have just bought a 2009 vogue se which is fitted with 22in wheels ,does anyone know what the tyre pressures should be with this size tyre 285/35 R22 106Y.From what I have read 22in wheels are not really the way to go but as they are in very good condition with nearly new tyres I,ll stick with them for now.Any help would be appreciated. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver

I can't help you with exact pressures as I don't run those tyres, but from what I can suss most people with rubber bands tend to run them at higher pressure than standard, so 33 psi would be a good starting point Thumbs Up

I can tell you that I run mine on 33 front and 45 rear (18's) but that is because I do a lot of towing. The main thing is to put enough air in the tyres so that they look inflated, but not too much so that they are perfectly round, as you'll get a really bad ride and no grip in the wet Shocked If you look on the side of the tyre there will be will be in small and impossible to read print, a maximum cold pressure, do not exceed this. And I'd try and stay 10-15 psi below that Thumbs Up

The higher the pressure the better fuel economy you'll get, but at the expense of ride quality and grip. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It's easy to determine the correct tyre pressure for any size tyre...

1. Make your best guess.
2. Ensure the tyre is cold, overnight is best.
3. Pump up to your guess.
4. Drive at 70mph for 20mins minimum (i.e. get the tyre up to normal temp)
5. Stop and check the tyre pressure. It should be exactly 4PSI higher than step 1.
6. If it isn't then adjust the starting pressure until you get it right...

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

I have those tyres on my 06 SC and run the pressures as per the label on the door pillar. I run at the lower pressures (sub 100mph unloaded) as that's how I drive and this seems fine. For a while I tried the higher over-100mph pressures and the ride over bumps was noticeably worse.
