We all accept that manufacturers have an occasional problem with a car, it is how they deal with the customer when they have those problems that differentiate between the good & bad manufacturers.

The current guideline for JLR seems to be if three attempts to rectify a specific fault have failed, then after the third attempt you are in a position to:

I have spoke to Ryan a couple of times and I believe its been escalated to engineering. I have lost all confidence in the car, its definitely a Friday afternoon build. |

The good news is I got my car back this morning, the bad news is that it took almost 5 weeks to repair which IMHO is unacceptable. I have been informed that the delay is down to JLR engineering analysing data from the vehicle. I am waiting for JLR to offer me some sort of compensation. I hope this brings an end to this terrible experience. |

I am not sure, I also complained to LR finance so identifying who pushed it along would be difficult. I also question if either had any effect, 5 weeks is a long long time, too long in my opinion. The dealer gave me updates but they had to wait for updates from JLR engineering. |

I cant believe this is still on-going - its got to be money back or replacement surely - I'd be talking to a solicitor or consumer protection - its nothing short of a joke. |

Many would probably agree. Always interested to know what effect LRCS have, if any, in more serious cases. Hopefully you will resolve matters in a way that is satisfactory to you ![]() |

The law states that I have to have the same issue three times or they try to fix it three times. There is no hard and fast rule on how long they can take and because they gave me a similar car I don't have a case in the eyes of the law. There is something coming into force on the 1st October I think, that means they have one time to fix it. I am waiting for LRCS to come back to me and I will post an update when it happens. |

Re the three attempts point, that may well be part of the LR warranty terms, but that does not prejudice your rights under the Sale of Goods Act. My recollection is that in the context of a purchase from a LR dealer if you have a major problem within 6 months then you have the right to return the car and get your money back or a replacement car either:
