Last few bits of welding finished, bent up some recovery points out of 18mm bar, cut holes in the front face of the bumper, welded them through and onto a piece of 8mm plate welded to the rear 8mm plate (should be able to pull just about anything with them Thumbs Up )

Then welded in some strengthening webs with 6mm plate...

Stonechipped it then topcoated in body colour, needs a better bit of adjustment but it's a bit hard on your own, going to have to come off again to fit the winch so will sort it then..















This is one of the things I was after, far more room here to get the rear wheel off an obstacle...

Wow. Can't believe how different it looks when painted.

Cheers chaps, had a look at the front today, plenty of room for the winch once all the superficial plastic removed and the air con fan, don't need it any more since fitting the electric fans to the other side of the rad... It won't stick out any further than the original bumper...

Also got the rear winch sorted, picked up a broken old one, stripped it down, fixed it and repainted it, should be OK for a while... Pete

Pete your a very bad man Bow down my cook has banned me from your posts, Big Cry reckons they give me way too many ideas

as soon as I get some free time a rear winch bar for the Ff is on the agenda.

Then a winch for the front been wanting one of those sense the TD6 so this car is going to get one

cant wait to see how you power them both up, to be honest the wiring is one of the reasons I'v been putting

off getting a winch on the front keep up the great work

Going to put another battery in the boot, Joe90 did a good write up on that in the WIKI... then run each winch off it's own battery, with isolators and fuses...

Modern winches don't use half as much juice as ones of old, the Comeup uses 380amp on full load (which is rarely, if ever reached) so not the battery killers they used to be.... Pete

New, modified tailgate fitted....





Rear just about finished, winch in, de badged as it just read "RAN" with the wheel in place, number plate moved, finished it off with the LandRover Oval... not too happy with the wheel carrier, really needs a top mount, the saddle clamp bearings saddle is not man enough for the job and it's flexing.... will sort one soon... Waiting on some wheel nuts as well....
