Just think he may have looked at a fair few before yours. As we all know its easy to buy a Range Rover but not that easy to find a good one, especially around the 8k mark. He probably soon realised he's dropped on to a good one.

I have no personal experience of this, but believe there are scams around where the price is paid other than in actual cash, eg some way of clawing it back out of PayPal once the "buyer" has the car, or getting the seller's bank account details and using those dishonestly or reversing a transfer in some way once the car has been handed over. You could try Googling for details if you are not getting cash. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Andy, I always sell cars privately. Never traded one in.

I would be less concerned about who has it more that their money is good!

Mmmmmmmm Trust your gut instinct, if you are uneasy just ask him for some photo ID and a utility bill as proof of ID, check the cash very carefully and get a friend around to count the cash in front of the guy, I have found in the past that is isn't easy to count money and do small talk.

If someone is comfortable with the offer, then fine. If someone is not, then the answer is simple! |

I get that people can make a snap decision... but he didn't look in the boot, didn't check under the bonnet, didn't open a back door, didn't test anything electrical and said he would collect it tomorrow, I'm not in a position for it to be collected ASAP as I have a personalised registration on it which needs to come off Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

Cash is all well and good if it's all genuine. You also run the risk of someone coming back and robbing you for it.

Doing the deal at the bank is great. No one if left holding a bag of cash that can easily be stolen.

When I bought mine a few weeks back, I paid by bank transfer. Due to the fact it was a large'ish sum of money I had to ring my bank to authorise it. Seller then just waited for it to appear in his bank account and all good. |

+1 on you and the buyer going to the bank with the cash. Thats how i sold mine and thats how i will do it from now on, so much easier than sitting trying to count cash and worrying if its real or not or doing digital transfer and have to wait a few days for it to show in your account.
