You have to change one of the bolts on the O/S/R driveshaft whilst there is a moon in the third quarter, this has to be done at 3.56am on a Wednesday, the bolt has to be tightened by a Tongan native... If you do this the mirror will turn inside out for 2.0873 seconds and then everything will return to normal...

Sorry, couldn't resist... I think you need a new one and yes they are a silly price, I changed mine for standard heated ones with concave ends so you get rid of the massive blind spot the originals have... can't say I've noticed that they don't dim any more.... Pete

These were the ones I bought (he has the other side as well) they are a massive improvement in vision over the standard ones, no blind spot at all...

I recently bought one for my AB 05 (face lift ) from my local MD for £125 all in. It was also the photochomatic type. |

I think the Ebay ones are good idea, but sadly his website tells me they won't fit a 2006MY SC . Looking at eh images I think they would though. Does anyone know if I am right? |

I think there are different ones for early cars and for later cars from about 2004 onwards. The fitting on the back of the glass is different i think, it's the same as the Discovery 3. The Ebay ones, are also only heated not Electrochomatic (auto dim), The non-dimming ones are a lot cheaper even from Land-Rover (about £50 i think)

What colour is the tint on your mirrors ? Bronze is photochromatic and Blueish just heated , I only say this because I don't think photochromic mirrors were available in 2002 let alone on an HSE but I await to be corrected .Can;t remember when they changed from a BMW mirror to the newer one but it was definitely about 2004 . 2008 MY Supercharged

Yeah mine are bronze they are photochromic and they are knackered. Didn't feel the need to replace like for like just wanted the heated option. |
