4mm even across all tyres. But it has been 4 wheel aligned a couple of times after suspension parts have been renewed.

Just as a note Pirelli scorpions seem reasonable at the mo, £150 delivered on cam skill and oponeo. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks. Had the 4 wheel alignment done on my Disco3, which made a real difference.

Just wondering if this was an isolated out of alignment thing or just another FFRR "undocumented feature" eg "they all do that" (like the way my wife's MB SL wears its tyres is an issue for every SL). 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

I was commenting generally regarding all cars, not just Land-Rover products. The alignment is set at the factory, but should be double checked by the dealer when cars are delivered to them as part of PDI. Because after a car has been driven a bit everything settles and needs rechecking.
But lots of them don't bother, its like a lot of cars (in general) fail their first MOT on headlamp aim. Because the original dealer either forgot or didn't bother to check the headlamp aim, so they run around for 3 years with bad lights.

It's always worth doing when you buy a second hand car, because you don't know what's been bashed or replaced in the past.

Some cars even leave the factory misaligned. Some Jaguar X-Types had their front subframe misaligned due to an error in production. It wasn't a recall so would only be flagged up if someone took their car back and complained that it drifted slightly, when it would be fixed FOC. However as we know, lots of people will drive round with flat tyres, bad brakes and all sorts and not notice if a car was owned by someone like that from new, then it might never have been set up correctly.

In theory the rears should wear out first as there is more power going to the rear but it does seem that the fronts tend to wear off their edges as some suggest and I seem to notice when ever I see any,wether incorrect pressure or just fast cornering ,who knows.I do like to swap my tyres round but am unable with the directional,i guess all motors are different.My works van ,a nv200 wears all 4 almost evenly with only front wheel drive,explain that??

its a 50/50 power output to the fronts and rears ..  ... - .- -.

L322 is 50/50

If you speak with AJS tyres, a well known and respected LR tyre fitter. They are adamant that when fitting a new pair, they should always go on the rear.

I agree ^^ but does that apply to ALL cars?

I was amazed to see the difference in handling of a test car in a video I saw made by MIRA where the best results on FWD car came from worn tyres on the front and new tyres on the back. However that's the key thing - a FWD car. I'm not so sure on our cars given the previous discussions about weight of vehicle, cornering characteristics, height of the vehicle itself, tyre profile and so forth.

However if you want to drive quickly round corners then get a car designed for that and enjoy the scerenity of owning the best 4x4xfar!!

Oh ok, i'd been told it by someone, and never having tested it i assumed it was the case.

The Freelander has/had a front bias though didnt it? 70/30 or something?
